1. Snwoboard in the mountains Created: 2010-02-07 13:23 Today I went snowboarding in the mountains. Incredibly fun; fast paced and lots of falling. I want to do this again! Good thing the mountains are in my back yard!
2. Christmas 2009 Created: 2009-12-24 14:25 Now it's Christmas again! This year I publish some photos of a traditional Christmas celebration around here. As a special twist I chose to be a bit unconventional and publish a photo of all the presents of the year. Thanks to all of you! Lots of useful stuff here for someone that is moving in a couple of days! :D
3. First Northern Lights, 2009 Created: 2009-10-24 01:39 These photos were shot the nights to 24th and 25th of October 2009. This was my first weekend of shooting northern lights this season. The results were mixed, but I'm quite happy with a couple of these photos, especially from day 2.
4. New York - Wall St, WTC, Statue of Liberty and more Created: 2009-10-19 23:32 The days in New York are over. I had a few surprises on the trip with Norwegian references where I least expected them and a "culinary experience" I wouldn't have wanted to miss. I can also mention the small mountain rising up from my suitcase - proof of solid exercise of the shopping muscle. Poor suitcase!
5. New York - Views, art, dinosaurs and squirrels Created: 2009-10-18 05:23 This day was filled with activities. At 7am I went down to the gym, then I grabbed a quick breakfast before heading towards Manhattan. Rockefeller Center, National Museum of Natural History, Central Park, Museum of Modern Art, Times Square and Empire State Building are keywords for the day.
6. New York - Seinfeld, Letterman, Leno and Times Square Created: 2009-10-17 04:33 Finally in New York. The hotel is great, and the weather not as bad as expected. What New Yorkers mean by rain all day is a drop now and then. An umbrella is only in the way. After all, not everything is big in the US of A.
7. San Francisco - The End Created: 2009-10-15 22:16 That was that for this year's conference. Here are some photos from the last days of the conference, a little sightseeing after the sessions and a conference event the last night with among other artists, Aerosmith.
8. San Francisco - Oracle Open World '09 Created: 2009-10-14 07:16 Here are some photos from the Oracle Open World '09 event; both photos from the event itself and free time activities. Common for all photos is that they are shot in San Francisco itself.
9. San Francisco - Alcatraz and more Created: 2009-10-11 07:26 Today was spent visiting Muir Woods (Redwood forest), Sausalito (small, cosy artist village) and Alcatraz (famous earlier prison island). It was a busy, but interesting day!
10. San Francisco - Monterey Created: 2009-10-10 08:03 Today, my colleagues and I went to Monterey. We had a rental car and took the Pacific Coast Highway (California Highway 1) south and California Highway 101 north. The nature was stunning at times, and in Monterey we visited a nice aquarium and a great restaurant.
11. San Francisco - Traveling Day Created: 2009-10-09 09:20 Today was a traveling day. I started from home at 06:15 in the morning and now I'm sitting here at 09:15 Norwegian time (00:15 in SF) uploading photos. However, I made time to go to a diner, then a pub and finally a kiosk for some essentials.

Hiking to snow covered Perstinden in autumn Created: 2009-10-03 18:18 I had been waiting a long time for good weather in order to climb Perstinden and get some nice photos of snow covered mountains. This was that day (October 3rd)! I didn't expect much snow; but at times I had snow over my knees.
13. NNM 2009 Cycling - Circuit Race Created: 2009-09-13 13:56 This year, the Northern Norwegian Championship in Road Cycling was held in and around Nordkjosbotn. They closed my street for cars during the races. Here are some photos from the Circuit Race for the classes Men and Women Elite racers, plus Juniors and Veterans.
14. USA - 1998 - Part 4 Created: 2009-09-04 20:31 This is the last lot of photos from this trip, much thanks to the fact that I lost two full rolls of photos between Mexico and Florida. That's why these photos jump ahead and only include personal shots from Florida, Georgia and Washington D.C. Photos from all the southern states in between are lost.
15. USA - 1998 - Part 3 Created: 2009-09-03 16:51 Curiously, this part is all about Mexico. Going to Mexico was sort of a thing that just happened because it was so easy to cross the border. I was there for about a week, traveling through the border town of Nogales both ways and staying within the state of Sonora.
16. USA - 1998 - Part 2 Created: 2009-09-02 17:52 This is the second lot of photos I'll publish from my first trip to the USA. These photos mainly revolve around the trip to Las Vegas, Zion National Park, Grand Canyon National Park and Tuscon - moving from California to Nevada, Utah and Arizona.
17. USA - 1998 - Part 1 Created: 2009-09-01 22:55 I'm going to visit San Francisco and New York in a few weeks, and found it fitting to publish some old photos from the first time I was in the US. I'm going to publish a few rounds of photos, and will start out with San Francisco, Santa Monica and Los Angeles.

19. Trip to Russedalsskardet Created: 2009-07-12 15:36 My father and I hiked through Russedalen to Russedalsskardet today. We totaled around 28 kms and walked for almost 4 hours, including breaks. The trip was nice, but there were lots of flies on the way up and a bit of rain on the way down.
20. Trip to Perstinden Created: 2009-07-09 22:54 Today I went to Perstinden with my GPS, tracking an experimental route down from the mountain (further north than normal). It was an ok route, but I still prefer my normal one! Anyway, here are some photos from the trip.
21. Trip to Varden at Tromsøya Created: 2009-07-04 17:45 Last week, some of my work colleagues and I hiked to the highest point of the island of Tromsø: Varden, at "incredible" 159 meters. There are no photos of my colleagues due to their right to privacy. PS! I went crazy with the GIMP (though not adding or removing anything) before uploading these photos.
22. Midnight sun from the Perstind Created: 2009-06-30 02:01 These photos were taken between midnight and 00:30 from Perstinden. The light isn't as dim as it seems, it was light as day, it's just the camera settings that make the surroundings darker in order to capture the sun better.

26. Perstinden - 917m Created: 2009-06-20 23:37 Today I went to the Perstind, a mountain that rises 917 meters. The weather in Nordkjosbotn was wonderful and the trip was great, as you can see from the photos.
27. Tour de Nordkjosbotn Created: 2009-05-22 22:20 This day in May I took my bike out for a ride. I started in Nordkjosbotn, stopped to go to Storvannet (elevation 330 m), rode to Rud and back to Nordkjosbotn again. I totaled 18km on the bike and maybe 2-3 km on foot climbing the steep valley side and going down again. Refreshing!
28. Storvannet in March Created: 2009-03-01 17:34 This is what Storvannet looks the first day in March. These photos were taken from the far side of the lake towards the valley where I live, and show well how the lake is all frozen over. Photos taken with my SonyEricsson W302.

We started in Tromsø and took "Hurtigruten" to Svolvær - in the middle of Lofoten. In Lofoten we had a variety of activities, but these photos focus on the trip to Lofoten on "Hurtigruten".

The sun is back again after a few months vacation, the snow is melting, vegetation is recovering and temperatures are rising. While these photos don't capture the spirit of spring, they sure capture the lack of snow ;)
41. Northern Lights Created: 2008-07-24 19:33 Here are some photos of the northern lights, or aurora borealis, one can see in the skies over Nordkjosbotn during winter. Some sight! It is very relaxing to be out at night just looking at the sky and the fantastic display of colors and bright stars.
